9 in 10 Romanians are influenced by a product’s label | Progresiv
The label of a product is important in the acquisition process for 9 out of 10 Romanians, while over 7 out of 10 are influenced by the quality of the packaging, according to a study published by Epson.
Regarding the time required to decide on the purchase of a product, about 80% of customers make this decision in less than 5 minutes, and 10% need an interval of more than 5 minutes to decide.
The information that, at first glance, convinces the consumer to buy is that displayed on the label (70.79%), the price (59.48%), the brand name (38.44%) and the label itself (33.21%).
The survey data show that more than 56% of Romanians shop in supermarkets and hypermarkets several times a week. Moreover, over half of the respondents (50.75%) try new products at least once a month, while 31.5% try something new every few months, while 17.75% at least once a week.
Another interesting aspect is the fact that just over 50% of the interviewees said that they always read the labels of the products, and 43% read them sometimes. The percentage of those who completely ignore the information on the label is very low, respectively 5.6%.
When it comes to product quality, 87% of Romanians are willing to pay more for a higher quality product, and 59.06% consider that the way the packaging looks is directly proportional to the quality of the product.
The study was conducted between 6.03 and 13.03 by Epson on a sample of 1397 urban respondents, over 18 years of age.
