Meat processor Neoplanta is planning to invest 30 million euros to renovate its meat processing facility as well as establishing a pig breeding farm in Serbia. The Serbian firm has received backing from China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC), reported Global Meat News.
The new farm will be built to fit a capacity of around 150,000 head per year. The project will commence in 2016 and is likely to complete by the end of 2017, reported Global Meat News.
Neoplanta recently renovated its production facilities and the current investment plan is in line with the company's expansion strategy that began last year.
The group is currently in talks with local authorities regarding the project. The company representatives were quoted by Global Meat News as saying that the first phase of the investment could be used within a year's time. (www.meatandseafood.food-business-review.com)
