ROMANIA: Sales of food, beverages and tobacco, +7.5% in the first seven months of the year | Progresiv
In the first seven months of this year, food, beverages and tobacco sales reported a 6.9% increase in gross series and an increase of 7.5% depending on the number of working days compared to the first seven months of 2017, according to data published by the National Institute of Statistics. 
In July, sales of food, beverages and tobacco increased by 5.8% as gross series and by 7.1% seasonally adjusted compared to July last year. Compared to June, sales in July recorded a 4.4% lead as gross series and an increase of only 0.2% depending on the number of working days and seasonality.
Overall, retail trade, excluding car sales, reported an increase of 6.4% in gross series and of 7.1% in terms of number of working days and seasonality, in the first seven months.
