ROMANIA: Over 4 million euros investment in a new walnut processing factory | Progresiv
Transylvania Nuts processor, owned by Levente Bara and Alexandru Chiric, is investing 4.2 million euros in a new production unit in Alba County where mixes of dried fruits and walnuts and walnut oil will be produced, said to Progresiv Magazine Alexandru Chiric, General Manager and Associate of Transilvania Nuts. 
The new factory will be located in Ciugud, Alba County, and will have an annual processing capacity of over 3,000 tons of walnut kernel. The 4.2 million euros investment will be supported by European funds, credit line and own funds.
In this unit will be produced, among other things, walnut kernel sticks, dried fruit mixes and nuts or walnut oil, much of which will be exported. According to Alexandru Chiric, 80% of the company's output currently exported, with the most important markets being Spain, Germany and Austria, out of a total of 18 countries.
The plant, to be completed in February 2019, will have 60 employees.
Transilvania Nuts, the company founded by Levente Bara and Alexandru Chiric in 2015, had a turnover of 5.5 million euros last year, and for this year Alexandru Chiric estimates the 8 million euro threshold will be exceeded.
