ROMANIA: Mega Image took over Adivin ’95 chain of stores | Progresiv
Mega Image took over the Adivin '95 chain of stores in Constanta, nearly two years since the business was put on sale. The transaction has been approved by the Competition Council, the Competition Authority's conclusion being that the transaction does not pose problems by creating or strengthening a dominant position on the relevant markets or their segments.
The Adivin '95 chain was set up in 1995 by Adrian Vintila and owns three supermarkets with a sales area of between 400 and 1,000 square meters, with daily traffic exceeding the threshold of 6,000 customers, according to the information provided by its administrator.
Under the "Your family’s supermarket" trademark, Adivin '95 stores sell a wide range of fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, sausages, dairy products, sweets, coffee, cigarettes, beverages, and cosmetics or detergents. The three stores generate, according to information previously provided by the entrepreneur, sales of about 1 million euros per month.
This is not the first takeover by Mega Image on the local market, among the most known purchases made by retailer are La Fourmi, G'Market, Angst and Luca. At the end of the first half of this year, Mega Image owned 623 stores under the Mega Image, Shop & Go and Romanian Tastes banners on the local market.
