ROMANIA: Kaufland began works at a new store in Bragadiru | Progresiv
German retailer Kaufland started working at a new store in Bragadiru, Ilfov County, to be inaugurated in the first part of 2019. 
The Kaufland hypermarket will have an area of approximately 4,800 sqm and will be located on Alexandria Road no. 229, Kaufland representatives said to Progresiv magazine. The company that builds this store is Concret Construct from Gura Humorului, Suceava County.
About 70 employees will work in the new store. With the opening of the Bragadiru store, the Kaufland chain will reach 121 local units.
"The expansion strategy of the Kaufland hypermarket chain focuses on proximity and the opening of new stores in as many different areas as the company's goal of being accessible to everyone. Kaufland Romania's expansion strategy for the financial year 2018 - 2019 (March 2018 - February 2019) is about opening 10 new stores, including small towns", said Kaufland Romania representatives.
Kaufland is among the largest retail companies in Europe, with over 1,270 stores in seven countries and a chain of 119 stores in Romania. The company reported for the year 2017 business of 10.09 billion lei, up by 4% compared to the previous year, locally.
