Heidi Chocolat manufacturer, controlled by Austrian family Meinl, aims for double-digit annual sales growth until 2020, after the completion of a program to modernize the production equipment and increase exports.
“Heidi has had in the last seven years double-digit annual growth. It will be the same this year and we aim for the same in the next five years. Our goal is to have a 50% increase in turnover in 2020 compared to this year”, said Franco Del Fabbro, CEO Heidi Chocolat.
The company inaugurated within its factory in Pantelimon, near Bucharest, a new space for the chocolate production. The project includes the installation of equipment that will improve product quality and increase production capacity. The new space has about 1,000 square meters and is part of an investment of 15 million lei started last year and that will run for three years.
Heidi Chocolat reported a turnover of almost 85 million lei last year. The annual production is the equivalent to 25 million tablets. Currently, exports account for about 55% of Heidi Chocolat’s turnover. The company exports to 48 countries on six continents, the most important markets being Great Britain, China, Poland and Canada. In Romania, the company had an increase of about 7%, while the market is on a slightly downward trend.
