ROMANIA: Halewood and Recas account for over 50% of the Romanian wine exports | Progresiv
Halewood Romania manufacturer together with Cramele Recas account for over half of the Romanian wine exports and 98% of deliveries to Great Britain, according to Dan Muntean, General Director of Halewood Romania. 
In 2014, Halewood Romania’s exports to the Great Britain were of 1.3 million bottles, from a total of 3 million bottles shipped to foreign markets. The manufacturer also exports important quantities to Estonia and Germany.
15% rise in exports
Halewood estimates a 15% increase in turnover this year, exports being one of the main growth engines.
In 2015, Halewood achieved a production of 5,500 tons of grapes, 25% more than last year. Of these, 2,500 tons of grapes have been grown in their own vineyards, while the remaining 3,000 tons were bought from partners.
Half of the company’s production goes towards export, while in Romania 60% of sales are achieved in retail and 40% in HoReCa.
Halewood is one of the leading wine manufacturers in Romania and owns 350 hectares of grape vines in Dealu Mare, Sebes and Murfatlar. Currently, the group has four divisions in Romania that specialize in managing grape-vines, wine production and sales on the domestic market and export.
Halewood’s most sold brands in retail are: Floare de luna, Floarea Soarelui and Prahova Valley.
