ROMANIA: The Grigoriu family sells Comfert but keeps its Pambac shares | Progresiv
Origin Enterprises Irish group, active on the agri-business market, recently acquired for 19.5 million euros Comfert company from Bacau, trader of seeds, fertilizers and pesticides. The transaction does not include Comfert’s shares of pasta and bakery products manufacturer Pambac.
“Currently, the Pambac shares will be transferred from Comfert to Comfert Agricultura. The sale was aimed strictly at the trade and distribution operations”, said Catalin Grigoriu, General Director of Pambac, for Progresiv magazine.
According to the latest reports at the Trade Register, the Grigoriu family owns, through Comfert, 45% of the Pambac’s shares.
Pambac SA was acquired in early 2013 by Comfert companies owned by the Grigoriu family and Popasul Trebes, controlled by the Gutu family.
Pambac, one of the most important companies in the market of milling, baking and pasta, reported last year a turnover of 171 million lei, up by 12% compared to the previous year.
