ROMANIA: GfK launches an online price monitor | Progresiv
GfK Romania announces the launch of an online price monitoring tool that covers all categories of consumer goods traded on the online channel. 
“We monitor prices of thousands of products from leading online retailers, every day. The tool we use shows how prices are changing, how much, how often, also keeping a track of this information”, said Julien Zidaru, Business Manager of GfK Romania.
Data obtained using the GfK Online Pricing Intelligence solution helps retailers assess their performance related to the pricing strategy in several categories. The data can be linked directly to the price management systems used by that retailer, which allows price changes to take place automatically based on criteria set by it.
GfK representatives also stated that information from GfK Online Pricing Intelligence reports helps manufacturers better understand and monitor the position of their products, but also those of their competitors in the market.
The launch of the new market research tool comes shortly after Cogenta’s integration in the GfK group, globally. Cogenta is the market leader in online price monitoring, collecting data on more than 8 million products in over 20 countries. The company, based in the UK, was acquired by GfK a year ago.
On the Romanian market, GfK is the largest market research company, with a turnover of 72 million lei in 2014.
