ROMANIA: The first official Food Price Monitor to be launched by 2016 | Progresiv
The Romanian Competition Council had a first technical meeting with the representatives of all the International Retail Chains active on the local market, in order to launch the Food Price Monitor by the end of 2015. The retailers role in this project is to give the requested price information on a regular basis to Competition Council.
The Price Monitor will publish online, in real time, price comparisons between the big international retail chains at a number of basic food products in Romania. The online platform will be operated by Competition Council. Another public institution involved in the project is the Romanian National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC).
In the first year, the project will only cover the retail in Bucharest. Then, it aims to expand to other cities in Romania.
