Profi stores chain could access 25 million EUR loan from EBRD | Progresiv
The EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development) is considering a loan of up to RON 109.5 million (approx. 25 mil. EUR) to Profi Rom Food SRL, a leading food retailer based in Romania. The proceeds of the loan will be used, inter alia, to support the capex plan of the company related to expansion of Profi’s network of stores in Romania, including the recently launched format – Profi Loco – designed for rural areas.The project total cost is estimated at RON 197.1 million and it is co-financed with a local bank. 
Profi financing project passed concept review and it is now pending final review at EBRD. It is mentionned that the board could have the final decision at the end of September this year.
Profi Rom Food SRL is a company positioned in Top 10 food retailers in Romania and it is owned by Polish Enterprise Fund VI, a private equity fund managed by Enterprise Investors. The turnover posted on 2014 was of RON 1844.5 million, a 27% increase versus the previous year.
