Nestlé inaugurates new coffee factory in Egypt | Progresiv
Nestlé has announced that it has inaugurated a new Bonjorno coffee production unit in Egypt.
The 12,740 square-metre factory will employ around 240 people, and offer 7,000 indirect jobs.
Executive vice-president and head of operations at Nestlé S.A., Magdi Batato, said, "We are delighted to inaugurate this new factory, which uses Nestlé’s strong manufacturing and innovation capabilities to leverage the most advanced technology.
"This factory reflects Nestlé’s ambition to invest in Egypt and foster the development of the rapidly growing soluble coffee segment, which has been gaining popularity among Egyptians."
Nestlé has invested 13.9 million Swiss francs in the new facility, which has eight state-of-the-art production lines for soluble coffee mixes, to cater to the needs of the Egyptian market.
In January of 2017, Nestlé acquired Caravan Marketing Company SAE (CMC), a leading Egyptian instant coffee company and owner of the Bonjorno brand. (www.esmmagazine.com)
