Lidl develops the Shop & Go concept in France | Progresiv
Lidl has launched a Shop & Go concept in France with the aim of accelerating the payment in its stores. The project, launched in a Paris establishment, consists of using the mobile phone to make purchases and complete the payment.
According to LSA reports, this initiative allows consumers to scan with their smartphones the products they enter in their baskets through an application. Once the purchase is finished, the app generates a bar code that includes all the products purchased.
In this way, at the time of payment, customers go through automatic check-out boxes and scan the bar code generated by the application. Also, this tool allows you to save the ticket of each purchase.
To use this system, also implemented in Portugal, the buyer needs to connect his mobile phone to the establishment’s Wi-Fi network, as well as having the geolocation function activated. (www.internationalsupermarketnews.com)
