Kaufland Romania’s CEO takes over the retailer’s Czech business as well | Progresiv
Marco Hößl, the executive in charge of Kaufland operations on the Romanian and Moldovan markets, will also coordinate the activities of the German retailer in the Czech Republic. 
Marco Hößl took over the leadership of the local business at the end of 2014 and in Moldova in 2015, with the retailer's entry on this market.
In the Czech Republic Kaufland operates 130 stores, which generated last year sales of 2.2 billion euros. Thus, the executive manages, in the three countries, 250 stores, with businesses of about 5 billion euros.
Kaufland operates in Romania a chain of 119 hypermarkets. The company reported a turnover of 2.2 billion euros (10.08 billion lei) in 2017, up by 4% over the previous year, and for this year, the company's representatives said that Kaufland's goal is to maintain the company on plus, not communicating the growth pace.
In Moldova, the retailer has 3 stores in construction, Kaufland intending to invest over 100 million euros in the first three years of activity on this market.
