Hochland acquires stake in Greek feta producer | Progresiv
Hochland SE acquires 25 percent of the shares in Greek feta producer Greek Family Farm. The company from Almyros, with its full name "Ktinotrofiki Magnisias - Synergazomenes Ekmetalefseis Anonymos Eteria SA", has been supplying the Allgäu cheese manufacturer with original Greek feta since 2015. In addition, it produces feta cheese and goat cheese mainly for Europe, the United States and the Australian market, and trades in milk, sheep and animal feed, Hochland said.
The contract was signed shortly before Christmas, being subject to antitrust approval. The decision is expected by the end of January 2019. Both parties have agreed to keep the purchase price confidential.
The partnership between Highland and Greek Family Farm is said to be even closer after taking over the shares. The Allgäu company secures in this way original Greek Feta for its Mediterranean brand Patros. The Greek partners in turn strengthened themselves for future investments and could use Hochland's marketing and production expertise. Founded in 2000, the feta producer is privately owned. The remaining 75 percent of the shares remained in the hands of the previous shareholders. (www.mbi-infosource.de)
