FRANCE: Auchan unveils Simply Gourmand format | Progresiv
Auchan has re-opened a refurbished Simply Market store which has been converted to its newest format - Gourmand - in Parly, next to Versailles, France. 
The retailer has improved the overall quality of its assortment while striving to maintain the format’s low price positioning.
The store has been extended by 500 square meters to 2,050 square meters and its assortment has increased by 1,200 SKUs to a total of 15,000 SKUs.
Fresh categories have been improved with additional staff now catering to the extended counters. The store also features an immediate consumption counter which serves sandwiches, pizza and fresh pastry. This store is part of a shopping gallery which groups together premium brand shops such as Hugo Boss and Apple; it is unlikely to be deployed in other locations. (www.kantarretailiq.com)
