Former Carrefour Romania executive, promoted within the French group | Progresiv
François Melchior de Polignac, the French executive who led Carrefour operations in Romania during 2010-2013, has been appointed Executive Director of Merchandising, Supply and Formation, and will also hold the position of a member of the executive committee of the group, writes Esmmagazine.com.
In 2013, Melchior de Polignac was named CEO of Carrefour Belgium, with Jean Baptiste Dernoncourt being appointed as head of operations in Romania. François Melchior de Polignac joined Carrefour in 2000 in the mergers and acquisitions department. Subsequently, he was appointed director of a hypermarket, and in 2017 he was promoted as executive director for transformation, merchandising and partnerships.
Prior to working at Carrefour, Melchior de Polignac started his career at L'Oréal in the finance department, then worked for three years for the Boston Consulting Group.
In his turn, Gérard Lavinay was promoted as Executive Director of Carrefour Romania. He also led the operations of the French retailer in the Northern Europe region - Belgium, Poland and Romania during 2013-2017.
As of August of this year, Jean Richard de Latour has been named to lead Carrefour Romania. Prior to this position, the manager was Operational Director for Bassin Grand Nord Hypermarket in France.
