DENMARK: Carlsberg crowdsources green ideas in new 20,000 dollars competition | Progresiv
Danish brewer Carlsberg has launched a new crowdsourcing competition in partnership with a Copenhagen-based think tank, encouraging companies and individuals worldwide to submit ideas on how to make the company’s beer more sustainable.
The Cheers to Green Ideas campaign is the result of a collaboration with Sustainia and is inviting ideas that will help the brewer to lessen the environmental impact of its beer – from the production of raw materials to the brewing and transportation of the finished beer, and recycling of the packaging.
“They should also inspire positive change in consumer behaviour to help drive a more sustainable future,” Carlsberg said. Examples could include innovative packaging ideas, ways of incentivising recycling, and technologies to increase energy and water efficiency. There are two categories – one aimed at consumers, and the other open to businesses or entrepreneurs – with prize funds of 10,000 dollars and 20,000 dollars respectively. (www.foodbev.com)
