Beiersdorf reports solid 9M growth, market share gains | Progresiv
Beiersdorf has reported a solid set of results for the first nine months of its fiscal year, as it outpaced the wider market.
For the three quarters to 30 September, sales were up 6% on an organic basis to 5.4 billion euros (+2.3% reported), helped by a 5.6% rise to 4.4 billion euros at its Consumer Business unit and a 7.8% increase to 1 billion euros at the tesa adhesives segment.
The results were driven by growth in Africa/Asia/Australia, where sales were up 10.4% on an organic basis, with those results being bolstered by a 4.5% rise in organic sales across Europe and a 3.1% increase in the Americas.
CEO Stefan Heidenreich noted: “Both Consumer and tesa have posted strong growth rates over recent years. We continued this successful path in the first nine months of 2018 with significant sales increases that outperformed the market and with further gains in market shares.”
Beiersdorf said it expects full-year sales to grow by 5%, with the Consumer unit expected to grow by the same amount, and tesa set to rise by 5%-6%. (www.kamcity.com)
