Annabella chain, two-digit sales growth in 2018 | Progresiv
Annabella, the retail chain owned by Dorina and Dan Mutu, ended 2018 with a 15% increase in sales over 2017, exceeding the 290 million lei threshold, according to the company.
"We are very happy that we are in constant growth from year to year. 2018 was a good year and we estimate a 15% increase over the previous year. This favorable outcome is due both to our development and modernization strategy and to the higher purchasing power of the final customer. Also, extremely important factors are: improving internal processes and a well-established management category", said Dorina Mutu, Annabella's General Director.
The retailer ended 2018 with 67 stores in Valcea and Arges, last year allocating 3.5 million euros in the expansion of the chain, but also in the modernization of the existing stores.
With regard to plans for this year, the retailer put the list of priorities on expansion in the same formats as before. "We are delighted when we see that Romanians prefer Romanian brands. That is why we are planning to expand in other counties or cities", she added.
Annabella is the second largest player in the local retail market based on turnover and number of stores, currently having 67 stores, mainly located in Valcea County. The retailer is owned by Dorina and Dan Mutu, who have also developed a production business - Raureni, one of the largest local brands of fruit and vegetable cans.
