Agricola to invest 5.5 million euros in ready-meal products | Progresiv
Agricola Group last year registered a turnover of approximately 737.2 million lei, up by 10.7% compared to 2017, and for this year prepares an investment of over 5.5 million euros in doubling the production capacity on semi-finished products and ready-meal products, shows the company's financial report. 
In early 2018, Agricola came out of the Comcereal business (cultivation of agricultural land, trade and grain storage). By eliminating Comcereal's turnover from 2017 by the whole group of companies, the 2018 growth in the Agricultural Group is 10.7% (after a 5% increase in 2017 compared to 2016).
"In a constantly evolving market and adaptation to the ever-increasing demands of consumers, you can only exist if you align with the process of adaptation to change and increase your performance at the highest level of the industry in which you operate. The Agricola Group of companies was and still is very diverse, so it is difficult to source resources to support the growth of all business lines, improve performance to be competitive with competing firms within the industry or with specific activity. This is how we decided to close the Agricola chain of stores at the end of last year, which could no longer perform in the conditions of aggressive competition of specialized multinational companies that have both the resources and the necessary skills for development in the proximity area. Even in this context, Agricola Group has grown and continues to have growth targets, direct employment growth, and indirect support for partner companies", said Grigore Horoi, president of Agricola.
Poultry meat sales of Agricola Bacau amounted to 45,275 tons in volume in 2018, with 7.5% more than in the previous year. The turnover recorded by Agricola International SA Bacau in 2018 is approximately 463,757 million lei, up by 15.56% as compared to 2017.
In the cold cuts category (obtained at Salbac SA), the turnover was 133,643 million lei, 7% higher than in 2017 (124,843 million lei), with a 6.5% increase of the sold volumes.
Europrod SA, the company selling pre-cooked and ready-meal products, recorded higher sales by 22% in 2018, with an increase of 12% in marketed volumes. "We have systematically increased this category, which is why we are investing more than 5.5 million euros this year, which practically doubles production capacity", says Grigore Horoi.
Consumption eggs produced at Avicola Lumina Constanta reported a 10.5% increase in turnover in 2016 (51,273 million lei), as the company sold 80,700 million eggs.
