SWITZERLAND: Lindt reports strong H1 growth | Progresiv
Lindt & Spruengli has reported strong sales growth for its fiscal first half, helped by the addition of figures from Russell Stover.
For the period, sales rose by 17.4% to 1.4 billion Swiss francs, although they were up a more modest 9.4% on an underlying basis. The group noted that its results were negatively impacted by the strength of the Swiss franc and by higher prices for commodities.
The group said it was performing strongly in North America, where its position was reinforced by the Russell Stover deal. It also reported market share gains in markets such as Germany and France, as well improvement in the UK. However, it noted that many markets in Europe remained “largely saturated, with very little growth”.
Lindt reiterated its full-year forecast for 6%-8% organic growth. (www.kamcity.com)
