Spar Hungary eyes 75 million euros chain development | Progresiv
The Hungarian arm of international food retail network Spar is planning to invest a total of 23 billion forints (75 million euros) on the development of its chain in Hungary, which comprises 345 Spar stores, 32 Interspar stores and 108 Spar Partner franchise stores, according to reports.
Plans for the development were announced yesterday at the opening of Spar’s latest store in Budapest, a 600 square-meter unit created through an investment of 260 million forints (848,000 euros). Developments would include the modernization of 26 stores in Hungary, said communications director Márk Maczelka, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.
Spár Hungary employs more than 13,000 workers in the country, MTI noted. Last year it had 488.2 billion forints (1.6 billion euros) turnover and is targeting 500 billion forints (1.63 billion euros) turnover for 2016, according to the news agency. (www.bbj.hu)
