ROMANIA: Profi plans to open at least 100 stores in 2016 | Progresiv
Profi, the retailer controlled by Polish investment fund Enterprise Investors, has reached the threshold of 350 stores with the opening of three units in Beclean, Bacau and Oradea. Since the beginning of the year, the company opened 76 units and estimates that by the end of 2015 will reach 100 new stores. Furthermore, according to company representatives, Profi will maintain its pace of expansion in 2016, planning to to open at least 100 stores.
With its 350 stores, the Profi chain covers all counties and is currently the retailer with the most extended geographical coverage in Romania. According to data from the Ministry of Finance, Profi last year reported a turnover of 1.84 billion lei, occupying the ninth position in the ranking of the 10 largest retailers in Romania based on reported sales.
