Mercator doubles investment in 2017 | Progresiv
Mercator has revealed its business plan for 2017, targeting revenue of 2.4 billion euros, less than the 2.6 billion euros of anticipated revenue this year, with the decline attributed to an increased focus on core retail. During 2016, Mercator has divested some non-food areas of its business, including Intersport. As part of its 2017 plans, investment is set to double to 68.5 million euros.
In 2017, the retailer will invest 68.5 million euros in its business, with most money being invested in Slovenia, including store renovations and openings, as well as the launch of a new logistics centre in Ljubljana. In 2016, Mercator planned to invest 34 million euros, most of which was planned for investment in Slovenian and Serbian stores. (www.igd.com)
