FRANCE: Carrefour opens airport store | Progresiv
Carrefour has opened its first City convenience store in a French airport. The Store is located in Paris-Orly airport. Opened in a partnership with Aéroports de Paris, the 200 sq. m store is located in the departures lounge of the southern terminal at Paris-Orly airport. Stocking almost 3,000 items and opening from 06:00 - 22:00 seven days a week, it is aimed at travellers, visitors and airport workers.
The assortment includes private label range Reflets de France, as well as branded items, fresh produce, hot and cold snacks and ready-to-cook meals; bread is sliced on-site.
Convenience-focused formats are playing a key role for Carrefour in France, which is one of the three countries at the heart of its multi-format expansion strategy. As channels continue to blur, retailers are investing in convenience stores to make sure they can be agile enough to meet changing shopper needs. Situated in this high footfall location, with a wide product selection, this Carrefour City has broad appeal. (www.igd.com)
