Dr.Oetker acquires Belgian bakery Diversi Foods | Progresiv
The German Oetker Group, known from the brand Dr.Oetker, announced the acquisition of the Belgian producer of fresh bread and frozen bread Diversi Foods.
"The Martin Braun group, responsible for the Baking group of the Oetker group, took over the Belgian company Diversi Foods on 6 December with the help of a group of shareholders, including the founding family and Waterland Private Equity", explains the Oetker Group. Diversi Foods, which produces fresh bread and frozen bread, but also finished products, therefore leaves the Waterland investment fund to join the German group Oetker. The acquisition must still be approved by the competent authorities. Dr. Oetker thinks it can finalize the acquisition in early 2018. The two parties have agreed to keep the acquisition price confidential.
The company with base in Erpe-Mere has factories in Belgium, the United Kingdom and Poland, and has a turnover of more than 150 million euros. The current management remains on post.
The Martin Braun group encompasses all companies that are active in the Oetker group, has a turnover of 350 million euros and employs 1,700 people. The group already has deep-frozen bakery products of high quality through Wolf ButterBack. That is where the emphasis is on Germany, Austria and Italy. "While retaining their local structures, Diversi Foods and Wolf ButterBack will work closely together within the Martin Braun Group to benefit from their combined strengths," said the group. "By integrating Diversi Foods, we are significantly expanding the services and products of the Martin Braun group", according to Albert Christmann, new pat'on of the group. "In addition, the acquisition is a clear statement about the strategic expansion plan of the Oetker group." (www.gondola.be)
