US: AB InBev to spend more than 1.5 billion dollars upgrading US business | Progresiv
Anheuser-Busch InBev NV, the world’s largest brewer, plans to invest more than 1.5 billion dollars in the US by 2018 to upgrade facilities and develop new products.
The maker of Budweiser and Stella Artois will spend 850 million dollars on brewery andpackaging projects, 720 million dollars on measures to boost efficiency, and 220 million dollars on new product development, it said in a statement.
This follows a three-year 1-billion dollars programme that culminated in 2014, which included new cider products such as Stella Artois Cidre and Johnny Appleseed, and developing recloseable aluminium bottles.
More than 250 million dollars worth of projects in the US are already in progress, including the expansion of a facility in St Louis that makes aluminium Bud Light bottles. (www.esmmagazine.com)
