Selgros inaugurated a new store concept in Baia Mare | Progresiv
Selgros inaugurated its first store in Baia Mare, while also marking a new store concept. Thus, the 23rd Selgros store has an average sales area of 6,000 square meters, compared to the 10,000 square meters or 4,000 square meters of the other units that the retailer already operates on the local market. 
"By opening the store in Baia Mare, Selgros offers professionals from Horeca, as well as food lovers, a varied assortment of food and non-food products. Our mission is to provide all our customers with fresh, high quality products”, says Robert Hellwagner, CEO of Selgros Cash & Carry.
According to the company, the food area of Selgros Baia Mare is comparable, in surface and assortment, to that of the Standard formats, and also includes an in-store restaurant, which integrates Selgros Bistro and the Pauza Mica rotisserie. Selgros Bistro in Baia Mare is the second unit of this type, the pilot project being launched last year in Brasov.
Selgros Cash & Carry Romania is one of the most important European size players on the domestic trade and entered the Romanian market in 2001, by opening the first store in Brasov, where the headquarters of the central administration is also located. Of the 23 stores operated nationally, three are in a small format, of about 4,000 square meters, the rest being on the classic format.
According to the most recent financial data reported, Selgros Cash & Carry reported in 2018 business of 3.72 billion lei, up by 2% on the previous year, but increased its profit by 50%, up to 73 million lei.
