Sano Vita business, taken over by an American investment fund | Progresiv
The Competition Council has authorized the transaction through which Sano Vita will be taken over by Roho Healthy Food Investments SRL, part of the American investment fund Highlander Partners. In Romania, the investment fund is present through the Ares group, a medical services provider. Financial details of this transaction have not been made public.
Sano Vita sells vegetarian products (flakes, pastas and other whole grain derivatives, dried fruits, seeds, etc.) and bee products and, after analyzing this economic concentration, the Competition Council found that the operation does not raise significant obstacles to effective competition on the Romanian market or any part of it.
The Sano Vita business is a family business, 100% Romanian. In 2017, the company also launched in HoReCa by opening the VegUp restaurant in the Aurel Vlaicu area of Bucharest.
In 2018, the company reported a net profit of 7.8 million lei, according to data reported to the Ministry of Finance. Compared to 2017, Sano Vita reported a net profit increase of almost 2 million lei.
