Sales of food, beverages and tobacco, more than 5% decrease | Progresiv
Sales of food, beverages and tobacco reported a 5.2% decrease in gross series in September compared to August, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics.
Calculated according to seasonality and the number of working days, the trade in food, beverages and tobacco registered a modest advance of only 0.9%.
However, compared to the same period last year, the trade in food, beverages and tobacco increased in September 2019 by 6.6% per gross series and by 5.8% depending on the seasonality.
In the first 9 months of this year, this segment of retail trade had a gross advance of 5.1% and 4.9% seasonally adjusted.
Accumulated, retail trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles) advanced by 7.1% after the first nine months of this year, both as gross series and seasonally adjusted.
