Sales of food, beverages and tobacco, up by 5.1% in 10 months | Progresiv
The trade in food, beverages and tobacco reported an increase of 5.1% in the first ten months of this year, depending on the seasonality and the number of working days compared to the same period of 2018, while gross sales increased by 5.4%, according to data communicated by the National Institute of Statistics. 
In October, gross sales of food and beverages increased by 8% compared to October of last year, while sales reported by seasonality and number of business days registered an advance of 6.9%, the INS data also shows.
Compared to September this year, sales reported an increase of 1.8% in October as gross series and an advance of 1% depending on the number of working days and seasonality.
Overall, retail trade, with the exception of car sales, increased between January and October 2019 by 7.1%, both as gross series and seasonally adjusted.
