Sales of food, beverages and tobacco, +4.7% in the first seven months | Progresiv
The trade with food, beverages and tobacco reported an increase of 4.7% in the first seven months of this year, depending on the seasonality and the number of working days compared to the same period of the year 2018, while the gross sales increased with 4.9%, according to the data communicated by the National Institute of Statistics. 
In July, gross sales of food and beverages increased by 5.9% compared to July of last year, while sales reported by seasonality and number of business days reported an advance of 4.7%, INS data also show.
Compared to June this year, in July sales increased by 5.7% as gross series and an advance of 0.8% depending on the number of working days and seasonality.
Overall, retail trade, with the exception of car sales, increased between January and July 2019 by 7.1% both as gross series and seasonally adjusted.
