Romania sustains Purcari sales at 9 months | Progresiv
Purcari Group reported revenues of 138.6 million lei for the first nine months of the year, up by 22% from the same period of 2018. Also, net profit increased by 15%, to 29.4 million lei, according to the financial report published by the company. Interestingly, Romania has contributed the most to this growth (+25% year-on-year), but good performances have been reported on the markets of Moldova and Asia as well.
"We are pleased with the results for the first 9 months and we are waiting confidently for the fourth quarter, which is a decisive and most important one, considering the seasonal factor. We are content with this year’s yield, a difficult year at global level, which positions us favorably in terms of demand and prices, as we prepare for our ambitious 2020 plans”, adds Victor Bostan, CEO Purcari Wineries.
The company announces that it will continue the strategy of premiumization, with a launch of Malbec de Purcari, but also of Dominum Cervi, the offer from the premium range from Crama Ceptura.
Purcari Wineries includes Purcari, Crama Ceptura, Bostavan and Bardar brands and is one of the largest wine and brandy groups in Central and Eastern Europe. The group manages around 1,400 hectares of vineyards and operates four production platforms in Romania and Moldova. The group is a leader in the premium wine segment in Romania, with a share of about 25% and the largest wine exporter in Moldova, delivering in over 30 countries.
