ROMANIA: Strauss sales rose by 8% last year | Progresiv
Sales of Straus Romania coffee maker, controlled by Israeli group Strauss, last year reported sales of 244 million shekels (250 million lei), up by 8% compared to the previous year. After the group reported a decrease of 3.6% in the first half of last year, its sales increased significantly by 36% in the last quarter, to 76 million shekels (78 million lei). 
Strauss completed in September 2014 the acquisition of Amigo instant coffee brand from the Brazilian company Cia Iguacu De Café Soluvel, for 20 million dollars, which contributed to the increase reported in the second half. The main brand of the company remains Doncafe.
Overall, the Israeli group reported sales of nearly 3.8 billion shekels (about 3.9 billion lei) in 2014, down by 3% from the previous year.
