ROMANIA: Shachar Shaine returns to the leading of Romanian Brewers Association | Progresiv
Romanian Brewers Association designated in January 2017 a new management, Shachar Shaine being elected as president and Julia Leferman as general director. 
Since February 2016 Shachar Shaine is President of United Romanian Breweries Bereprod (URBB) - a company that he led between 2004 and 2010. He’s also been president of the Romanian Brewers Association between 2008 and 2009.
This position is occupied by rotation, for one year, by one of the directors of the four founding companies - Ursus Breweries, Heineken Romania, Bergenbier Romania and URBB. Shaine's predecessor, in the current mandate, was Igor Tikhonov – president of Ursus Breweries.
Julia Leferman – the new General Director of the Association - has an experience of over 15 years in Public Affairs accumulated in public and in private consulting. Before joining the Romanian Brewers, she was part of Grayling team.
The Romanian Brewers Association was established 12 years ago and now has six members from the major brewing companies: Bergenbier S.A, Heineken Romania, URBB, Ursus Breweries and Martens, along with Clinica de Bere microbrewery. Together, the six manufacturers supply over 80% of the beer consumed in Romania - according to data provided by the association. Part of the Association are also representatives of producers of raw materials: Soufflet Malt Romania and Hops Producers Association.
In 2008, the Romanian Brewers Association affiliation with Brewers of Europe, an organization that represents the interests of over 6,500 breweries in Europe before various international institutions and organizations.
