ROMANIA: Senator Wine to double exports in 2015 | Progresiv
Wine maker Senator Wine expects to double its exports this year compared to 2014, reaching 1.2 million bottles of wine. 
"Since 2009 we strive to get our wines abroad, in recent years managing to sign contracts in China, Japan and Russia. This is the reason why we expect this year to send to export 1.2 million bottles of wine, as until May we already had orders for over 600,000 bottles", said George Neacsu, director of Senator Wine.
The wine makers exploits about 800 hectares of vineyards in four areas of the country in Husi, Vrancea, Insuratei and Tirol. Since 2009, the company launched a comprehensive investment process worth 9 million euros, consisting of replanting the vineyards and upgrading the winery in Odobesti. The total amount invested since its establishment until now reached 14 million euros.
"The investment efforts of recent years had to be completed by a sales strategy that ensures a consistent view of the business. For this reason we decided to move towards export, especially by strengthening partnerships with China. For the next year we target a more pronounced growth in sales in countries like Poland, the UK and the US,", said George Neacsu.
Senator Wine has a portfolio of seven wine ranges. In 2014 the company reported a turnover of 13 million lei.
