ROMANIA: How does FrieslandCampina plan to support its partner farms in Ardeal | Progresiv
FrieslandCampina Romania invests human and financial resources for the development of its partner farms in the region of Ardeal. According to company representatives, the partner farms can benefit from support in terms of increased quality and quantity of milk supplied.
"The objectives of this strategy include lower costs for farmers, optimization of milk production during the year, the increase of the number of cows per farm to an optimum amount in order to ensure their sustainability and long-term elimination of losses for both FrieslandCampina Romania and the farmers", said representatives of the dairy producer.
Thus, FrieslandCampina Romania has invested in preparing a team of experts, called "Mesterii Laptelui” (“Milk Craftsmen”), which will be the link between the company and farmers, providing the latter with information and necessary support and facilitating their access to the resources the company offers to improve processes within the farms.
"Our farmers, from whom we collect 75 million liters of milk annually, we support in developing the farms at a profitable and sustainable level in the long term. Thus, we offer our farmers access to resources and cutting-edge knowledge and the possibility of streamlining the business around their farms”, said Laurentiu Gioroc, Dairy Development Manager FrieslandCampina Romania.
FrieslandCampina ended 2015 locally with a turnover similar to that reported in 2014, 90 million euros, Napolact brand generating 60% of the turnover of the company. This year, FrieslandCampina Romania aims an increase in turnover of low single digit (up to 5% ) and resuming profit for the business.
