ROMANIA: FrieslandCampina puts on sale the Carei factory, closed in 2015 | Progresiv
FrieslandCampina, the Napolact dairy producer, auctioned the former production unit in Carei (Satu Mare County), the tendering procedure being open until January 30th.
"The sales process for this platform is internally managed by the FrieslandCampina group, and the sale of this property has become opportune as a result of a process of centralizing production and distribution operations, resulting in the dairy production at the Carei plant being transferred in 2014 to the FrieslandCampina factory in Baciu, Cluj", said the company representatives.
The auctioned property amounts to 27,038 square meters and is divided into three lots. The first batch, which houses an administrative building, has an area of approximately 2,400 sqm, on the second is located the building of the former dairy factory (19,208 sqm), and the third lot occupies 5,403 sqm.
FrieslandCampina owns Napolact, Frico, Milli, Oke and Dots brands in its local portfolio, through which activates in six categories: consumption milk, yogurt, cheese, butter and milk-based snacks. Last year, Napolact reported a consolidated turnover of 331 million lei, up by 4% over the previous year and a profit of 2.65 million lei, the first time in the last five years when the company reports profit.
