ROMANIA: Food and beverages trade, +8% in the first quarter | Progresiv
The turnover volume for food, beverages and tobacco trade increased by 8.5% as gross series and by 7.8% according to seasonally and working days in the first quarter of 2015 compared to the same period of last year, announced the National Institute of Statistics (INS). 
In March, compared to the same period of 2014, sales reported an advance of 8% as gross series and 8.6% depending on seasonality. Compared to February, gross sales increased by 13% and the seasonally adjusted sales - a 1.6%advance.
Overall, retail trade turnover (except for trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles) registered in the first quarter of 2015 an increase of 3%, both as gross series and depending on the number of working days and seasonality compared to the same period last year, according to the INS.
