ROMANIA: Food and beverages sales rose by 10% in April | Progresiv

Turnover volume for food, beverages and tobacco retail sales increased in April by 10.8% as gross series and by 8.9% based on seasonality and working days compared to April of last year, announced the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

Compared to March of this year, sales of food and beverages reported an advance of 6.2% as gross series and 0.3% depending on seasonality. In the first four months of this year, gross sales rose by 9.4% and registered a seasonally adjusted 8.2% advance.

Overall, the turnover volume for retail trade (except trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles) registered in the first four months of 2015 an increase of 4.3% as gross series, respectively, of 4.4% depending on the number of working days and seasonality, compared with the same period of last year, according to the INS.
