ROMANIA: Food and beverages sales, up by 16% in the first ten months | Progresiv
Sales of food, drinks and tobacco reported a gross increase of 16.5% in the first ten months of 2016 and of 16.8% seasonally adjusted compared to the same period last year, according to data published the National Institute of Statistics (INS). 
In October, sales of food and beverages increased by 5.9% as gross series and as adjusted series by 7.2% compared to October of the previous year. Compared to September of this year, sales of food, beverages and tobacco reported in October an advance of 2.1% as gross series and of 0.2% as adjusted series.
Overall, the turnover of retail trade (except for motor vehicles and motorcycles) registered in the first ten months of 2016 an increase of 14.7%, both as gross series and by number of working days and seasonality compared to the same period of last year, according to INS.
