ROMANIA: First changes at Albalact after Lactalis’ takeover | Progresiv
After the acquisition by the French group Lactalis, Albalact appointed a new Board of Directors, the interim president of the company being Spanish Aurelio Antuña Rodriguez, who so far has led Lactalis’ operations in Central Europe and the Balkans, according to an announcement published by the company on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) website. 
The French from Lactalis take control of Albalact, replacing the Board of Directors formed so far by Petru Raul Ciurtin, Petru Ciurin and Cornelia Mioara Oancea. Thus, the composition of the new Board of Directors will include Spanish Aurelio Antuña Rodriguez and French Gilles Joseph Stéphane Mézière, respectively, François Jacques Auguste Peslier.
Aurelio Antuña Rodriguez led Lactalis’ operations for Central Europe and the Balkans since April 2014 until now, according to his LinkedIn profile. Graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Oviedo in 1989, the new president of Albalact had the first management positions at PepsiCo Spain division and has been working with within Lactalis group for the past 10 years.
Lactalis paid for Albalact, the largest player on the Romanian dairy market - in the public offer closed on September 14th - 334.21 million lei (75.18 million euros). The announcement of the sale towards Lactalis Group came early this year.
Albalact is currently the largest dairy producer in Romania, with a turnover of 452 million lei (about 100 million euros) and a net profit of 14.87 million lei in 2015. Founded in 1971, the company was transformed into limited company in 1990 and privatized in 1999.
Lactalis is the largest French producer of dairy products, with international businesses. It owns more than 200 factories in 43 countries and currently employs 75,000 people. In 2015, Lactalis had a turnover of 17 billion euros.
