ROMANIA: Doncafé producer reported a 19% advance of sales in 2015 | Progresiv
Coffee manufacturer Strauss Romania, controlled by Israeli group Strauss reported for 2015 sales of 255.3 million lei, up by 19% from last year, according to the company's financial report.
“The sales growth reflects, among others, the sales of Amigo brand, whose acquisition was completed in September 2014. Excluding Amigo, the company's sales rose by 11% in 2015 compared to the previous year. The advance reported for 2015 was also supported by increased volumes and prices due to higher green coffee prices”, according to the report. The company's sales in the fourth quarter mark a decrease in volumes. Thus, in the last four months of 2015 compared with the same period of last year, Strauss Romania sales were about 65 million lei, slightly lower than the fourth quarter of 2014, reflecting the depreciation of the leu against the shekel, as well as differences in the trade calendar.
Overall, the group reported last year sales of about 3.42 billion shekels, down by 10% compared to 2014. The value in lei of the financial indicators were calculated at an exchange rate of 1 shekel = 0.971 lei.
