ROMANIA: Cosmetic Plant sales, +20% in the first nine months | Progresiv
Cosmetic Plant, one of the most known domestic cosmetics producers, reported in the first nine months of this year a 20% increase in business compared to the same period in 2015, reaching a business of approx. 8.5 million lei (1.88 million euros). However, the volumes of products shipped during this period registered an advance of 14% compared to the same period of the previous year to approximately 960,000 pieces.
"These significant increases were based on several factors. The expansion of the distribution network and the launch of deliveries to Carrefour hypermarkets, together with expanding the assortment of Cosmetic Plant products to already existing partners and the launching of Lift UP and Miere & Laptisor product ranges at the end of 2015 had a positive impact on results, as well as the launching of the new Cocos beach range this summer", said Susana Laszlo, General Director Cosmetic Plant (photo).
Regarding the company’s future plans, Susana Laszlo pointed out that for full-year she estimates a growing business by 20 percent compared to 2015, to approximately 11 million lei (approximately 2.4 millions euros). Also, for 2017 the company is already working on two new ranges and the facelift of one of the existing.
Cosmetic Plant is one of the best known cosmetics producers in Romania, the business being founded in 1991 in Cluj-Napoca by pharmacist Ileana Mester. Currently, Cosmetic Plant’s portfolio includes over 100 products, divided into 14 wide assortments grouped according to the principal active ingredient (marigold, sea buckthorn, olive oil, Q10 + green tea, argan oil, etc.) or use of the product (solar protection, anticellulite, hair care).
