ROMANIA: Cosmetic Plant aims for a 10 million lei turnover in 2016 | Progresiv
Cosmetic Plant, one of the leading local manufacturers of cosmetics, reported for 2015 a turnover of 8.9 million lei, up by 20% over the previous year. For this year the manufacturer aims an advance of 10% in turnover, to 10 million lei, the growth being sustained by expansion of the distribution chain and exports, as well as launching new products. 
“The positive development of the business was based on several factors including the widening of the distribution chain, moving into new hypermarket chains and an increase in the product range by four new ranges - Miere, LiftUp, Galbenele BIO and Anticelulita. Also, besides these, last year we conducted a series of face-lifts in the packaging of 18 products”, said Susana Laszlo, General Director of Cosmetic Plant.
The sales volume exceeded one million products last year, while the profit reached in about 1.8 million lei. In the next period, the company will launch three new creams that will mark the anniversary of 25 years since the establishment of the business and, with the coming summer season, a special range will be developed.
Cosmetic Plant reported last year and an increase of 170% of export sales. Apart from Hungary, Plant Cosmetic products were very well received and are in the top export destinations in Moldova and Jordan. Regarding the most sold internationally Plant Cosmetic products, Biola range is the most required, along with bleaching cream with lemon extract and the GreenStem range.
Cosmetic Plant is one of the best known cosmetics manufacturers in Romania, a family business established in 1991 in Cluj-Napoca. Currently, Cosmetic Plant portfolio includes over 100 products, divided into 13 wide ranges grouped according to the principal active ingredient (marigold, sea buckthorn, olive oil, Q10 + green tea, argan oil, etc.) or based on the use of the product (solar protection, anticellulite, hair care).
