ROMANIA: The Competition approved the takeover of the P&G factory by Dalli | Progresiv
The Romanian Competition Council authorized the economical concentration by which Dalli Production Romania takes over the assets of detergent manufacturing plant in Timisoara from Detergenti SA, part of Procter & Gamble. “The Competition Council’s analysis concluded that this transaction does not raise significant obstacles to competition by creating or strengthening a dominant position in the relevant markets identified”, according to a press release of the institution. German group Dalli is present in Europe in the home and personal care products manufacturing, mainly for retailers’ private label and brand manufacturers.
The factory in Timisoara, where are manufactured laundry detergents, fabric care products dishwashing detergents, was purchased by the American group Procter & Gamble from the Romanian state in 1995, who modernized it and extended it, much of the production going being exported.
Procter & Gamble also owns a production unit of shampoos and hair conditioners at Urlati, inaugurated in 2010 after a greenfield investments which received aid from the Romanian Government.
