ROMANIA: Coca-Cola sales keep positive trend for the seventh consecutive quarter | Progresiv
Volume sales of Coca-Cola HBC, the second largest bottler of American group Coca-Cola, reported in the third quarter a decline of 1%, to 571.6 million shuttles, while value sales decreased by 1.9% in the same perioad, to 1.75 billion euros. However, locally, Coca-Cola HBC sales rose for the seventh consecutive quarter, according to a financial report released by the company.
"The increase in volumes sold in emerging markets was of 1.3% (to 290.6 million crates), an improvement over the trend of the first half due to growth in Nigeria and Romania and slower decline in the Russian market. In Romania, the effect of reducing VAT in June 2015, which supported sales growth for several quarters, was decreased. Despite the unfavorable base effect, Romania remained on a positive trend, recording increases in all product categories except water", according to Coca-Cola HBC’s report.
Although volumes sold in emerging markets rose, net revenues decreased by 0.1%, to 741.7 million euros due to currency fluctuations. Excluding exchange rate movements, revenues increased by 7.2%.
Coca Cola Hellenic Bottling Company is one of the largest bottlers of Coca-Cola worldwide, with operations in 28 countries and a total volume of 2 billion shuttles per year (unit cases). In Romania, Coca-Cola HBC owns three factories, in Ploiesti, Timisoara and Vatra Dornei and a network of 14 distribution centers.
