ROMANIA: Carrefour to restart the Express franchise | Progresiv
Carrefour has resumed the expansion plans for the Express chain by integrating a convenience store operated in franchis, in Brasov. Express RostCom commercial unit is located at No. 17 Ion Creanga Street and has a sales area of 200 square meters. 
With this opening, the chain counts 46 Express convenience stores, of which 11 units in Brasov, a unit in Galati, three units in Giurgiu, a unit in Satu Mare, eight units in Bistrita Nasaud and 22 units in Bucharest and Ilfov.
The Express franchise co-option process was stopped last autumn. The franchise concept proposed by Carrefour Romania enables the partner who has a family (1-3 stores) or a chain of stores to maintain, manage and develop this business. The business is still run by its owner who is assisted in managing the store by Carrefour Romania.
Carrefour Romania owns a chain of 179 stores, of which 28 Carrefour hypermarkets, 97 Market supermarkets, 46 Express convenience stores, 9 Contact proximity stores and an online commerce website: www.carrefour-online.ro. In the financial year 2014, the company reported a turnover of 4.56 billion lei.
